Speaking about Panerai watches today, many will think of its big sizes begins at 44mm and to 47mm. Though Panerai made smaller-size watches before, its images today remains the leading brand in making big watches.
Now, it is reported that, Panerail is going to make new Radomir watch in 42 mm at the beginning of 2010. Is Panerai plan to do something to get small-size watches back? Or is it just a strategy to get a bigger bite in Asian or other regions where men have smaller wrist sizes? I have no idea. Like most people, I am used to big Panerai watches, So I am a little shocked and interested in the news.
According to the report, 42mm Redomir watch will be presented on pink gold with Panerai’s most-recognized shape. The dial comes with all the classic details of Panerai watches, except the exceptionally beautiful brown tone. And the dial also showcases great readablity in places of poor lighting thanks to the a ‘sandwich’ structure with the luminescent material placed between two metal layers, the top one perforated in correspondence with the numerals and indexes.
And the 42mm Redomir watch will be much thinner than most today’s Panerai models as it is fitted with a thin manual-wound P’999 calibe that measures just 3.4mm at thickness. This new in-house made movement beats at 21.600 vph and has a power reserve of 60 hours.
The 42mm Redomir watch is completed by a brown leather strap with 18 rose gold clasp.
