Since Portuguese Tourbillon Mystere was launched in 2004, the number of its fans has kept increase as it is so intriguing, attractive and mysterious. It has golden proportions, unique glass and fantastic tourbillon escapement setting that creates an illusion that the refined case seems to rotate in a void while keeping good balance.

On the dial, the flyback date indicator with graduated scale is the real diva. It occupies near one quarter of the surface. As mentioned already, the date indicator will jump back to the first day of each month of 31 days once reaching the “31”.and In months that have less than 31 days, or if the watch has not been worn for some time, the date indicator can be advanced via the rapid adjustment function and springs back to the beginning place. No adjustment is needed.

The minute tourbillon takes the place of the small seconds and brings a mysterious touch to the timepieces. The function is performed by the steel cage of three stays that are arranged in a star shape. The tourbillon is composed of 91 parts and weighs 0.433. It is another eye-catcher on the dial as a “animated twelve”. This tourbillon rotates once every minute against the deep black background under part of the cage-and that is where people find it is very mysterious and intriguing. In addition, not like the previous model whose tourbillon was set in a plate segment with cylindrical grinding, this tourbillon is presented on a ring with mirror-finished inside and thus parts of the escapement are reflected again. So this tourbillon present a visual feast for admires.

The power reserve indicator appears at the right side of the dial , providing the remained power of the barrel.

IWC Purtuguese Tourbillon Mystere Retrograde has two variants: 18k red gold case a silver-plated dial and platinum case with ruthenium-black dial. The former is limited to 500 pieces, while the latter is limited to 250 pieces.
