Volna is Swiss luxury watch brand sporting Russian heritage. That sounds a little ridiculous as Swiss luxury concept and Soviet Russian are two concepts that always fight with each other. But Volna obviously ignores the issue and gives an impressive slogan for the brand –“Russian Heritage Swiss Made”. Anyway, this brand has some distinct design features that it should be proud of. For example, Volna watches always carry a style of military nationality that you hardly find from other brands. Maybe it is because high-rank military officials in Russian need watches of great look and great style.
Well, the Typhoon Siberia SHCI is the brand’s latest creation. And this new sports chronograph watch watch is completely done in Grade 5 titanium and is sized at 46.5 mm. The crown and the case back feature an engraved propeller. The dial has two versions: red on black or black on red. Both dials come with nice satin finished ruthenium plates.Beating inside the watch is a modified Swiss ETA automatic movement.
And as we know that there is a common problem for chronograph diving watches: When the wearer use the chronograph in deep water, the water may go inside and thus damage the watch. To solve this problem, Volna specially designs a unique system called “Security Hand Chronograph Indicator” (SHCI). This indicator is used to display the locked or unlocked condition of the chronograph at 9 o’clock position of the dial. And you can lock the chronograph through the turning lever located on the crown.
The Volna Typhoon Siberia SHCI competed by a rubber strap and is limited to 250 pieces. The price is estimated to be more than $10,000.
